Senior SAP Merchandise Planning Retail Consultant

Location: Remote / Hybrid / Dubai UAE (travel as required)
Contract Length: 6 Months (with potential extension)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Merchandise Planning Retail Lead to join a large-scale SAP Retail transformation programme. This role will lead the delivery of the SAP Merchandise Planning Omnichannel (MPO) workstream within SAP Customer Activity Repository (SAP CAR), driving solution design, implementation, and successful delivery.
The successful consultant will act as the functional lead, managing partner resources while working closely with business stakeholders, project leadership, and technical teams to deliver a best-practice merchandise planning solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the SAP Merchandise Planning Omnichannel (MPO) workstream within SAP CAR.
• Drive functional design, solution architecture, and implementation activities.
• Lead workshops with business stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of the Merchandise Planning workstream.
• Coordinate and lead partner and consulting resources across the project.
• Collaborate with SAP Retail, Supply Chain, and Integration teams to ensure seamless solution delivery.
• Provide functional expertise and best practice guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support testing, defect resolution, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live activities.
• Identify delivery risks and proactively manage issues and dependencies.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience delivering SAP Retail solutions.
• Strong hands-on expertise with SAP Customer Activity Repository (SAP CAR).
• Proven experience implementing SAP Merchandise Planning Omnichannel (MPO).
• Strong understanding of retail merchandising and merchandise planning processes.
• Experience leading SAP workstreams on large-scale implementation or transformation programmes.
• Previous experience managing consulting teams and third-party delivery partners.
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall project environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Retail.
• Knowledge of SAP Forecasting & Replenishment (F&R).
• SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) exposure.
• Experience integrating SAP CAR with SAP Retail and other enterprise systems.
• Retail industry experience within grocery, fashion, consumer goods, or omnichannel environments.
