SAP S/4HANA Conversion Lead (m/w/d)

Multiple locations across Germany | Hybrid working

We are supporting a well-established, internationally active organisation that is expanding its SAP S/4HANA transformation capability.

This position is designed for someone who combines strong SAP technical knowledge with architectural oversight and transformation leadership. It is not a purely administrative project-management role.

You will take ownership of the quality, consistency and end-to-end feasibility of complex SAP S/4HANA conversion programmes connecting SAP technology, business processes, testing, cutover and governance into one executable transformation approach.

Your responsibilities

• Lead complex SAP S/4HANA conversion programmes from initial assessment and planning through to quality assurance, cutover and implementation
• Develop robust conversion strategies covering technical dependencies, functional impact and operational readiness
• Own the architecture and conversion methodology across SAP technology, business functions, testing, cutover, programme management and governance
• Assess and assure the quality of preliminary studies, project plans, estimates, proposals and implementation roadmaps
• Establish clear technical and functional decision-making criteria
• Identify delivery risks, dependencies and gaps before they affect the conversion
• Align technical teams, business stakeholders and programme leadership around a realistic and achievable roadmap
• Ensure that the conversion is treated as an integrated business transformation rather than an isolated technical upgrade

Your background

• Several years of experience delivering SAP S/4HANA conversions, brownfield programmes or similarly complex SAP transformations
• Previous responsibility as an SAP Conversion Lead, Technical Lead, Solution Architect or comparable senior specialist
• Strong understanding of SAP Basis, SUM/DMO and complex SAP system landscapes
• Experience covering custom code, interfaces, transport management, dual maintenance, retrofit and cutover scenarios
• Confident working with SAP Readiness Check, ATC and Custom Code Analysis
• Strong understanding of S/4HANA simplification items and their impact on processes and business functions
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear decisions, priorities and implementation plans
• Strong stakeholder-management skills across technical, functional and leadership teams
