SAP Technical Architect – S/4HANA RISE Programme

6-Month Initial Contract | Outside IR35 | 99% Remote | Immediate Start

Next Ventures is exclusively supporting a leading grocery retailer as they embark on a major SAP S/4HANA transformation programme. The organisation is currently in the discovery phase of a large-scale 3–5 year S/4HANA RISE programme, and we are looking for an experienced SAP Technical Architect to join the programme from the outset.

This is an excellent opportunity to shape the technical architecture of a long-term enterprise transformation, with strong extension potential beyond the initial 6-month contract.

Role Overview

As the SAP Technical Architect, you will play a key role in defining and governing the technical landscape for the S/4HANA RISE implementation. Working alongside business stakeholders, SI partners and programme leadership, you will ensure the technical architecture supports the programme's strategic objectives while establishing best practices for the implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the SAP technical architecture for the S/4HANA transformation programme.

• Provide architectural leadership throughout the discovery and planning phases.

• Design scalable, secure and future-proof SAP landscapes within a RISE with SAP environment.

• Lead technical design discussions across infrastructure, integration, security and SAP Basis.

• Work closely with functional architects, delivery partners and programme stakeholders.

• Support technical governance, standards and architecture reviews.

• Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and SAP best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an SAP Technical Architect on enterprise-scale SAP programmes.

• Strong hands-on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementations.

• Previous experience with RISE with SAP is highly desirable.

• Demonstrable experience within the grocery retail sector is essential.

• Strong understanding of SAP technical architecture, integration and cloud environments.

• Experience working through discovery, assessment and programme mobilisation phases.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Fluent English.

Contract Details

• Contract Length: Initial 6 months

• Extensions: Strong likelihood of extension throughout a 3–5 year programme

• Location: 99% Remote

• Start Date: Immediate

• IR35 Status: Outside IR35

• Rate: Open and dependent on experience
