The opportunity

A leading global consultancy is seeking an experienced SAP CO Lead to support a significant S/4HANA transformation programme for a manufacturing-sector end-client based in northern Germany. The role is predominantly remote with periodic on-site travel required. This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension based on programme needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the SAP CO workstream within an S/4HANA implementation or rollout
• Design and configure CO components — Cost Centre Accounting (CCA), Internal Orders, Product Costing (CO-PC), and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
• Work closely with FI counterparts to ensure seamless integration across the finance landscape
• Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into SAP solutions
• Support testing phases (unit, integration, UAT) and assist in cutover planning
• Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to the client team

Required experience

• Strong, hands-on SAP CO configuration experience — S/4HANA preferred
• Proven track record in manufacturing or related industrial environments
• Experience working on large-scale SAP implementations through full project lifecycle
• Ability to work independently and lead a workstream with minimal oversight
• Comfortable working in a consultancy / client-facing delivery model
• Business-level English required; German language skills a strong advantage

Nice to have

• SAP FI/CO cross-functional experience
• Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology
• Previous exposure to DACH region programmes
